Camp Ervay is a unique 12x16 off grid cabin with a second story observation deck. The cabin was a built by a husband and wife duo (an architectural project manager and an elementary special education teacher). The design of the cabin takes cues from scandinavian simplicity with its use of light colored natural wood via site sourced ash. The interior flooring, furniture and siding use the material. Internally the wood is finished with Rubiomonocoat in cotton. Externally it's finished in the shou sugi ban technique. Power is provided by a Goal Zero Yeti 400 and 500x which recharge via (2) 100 watt solar panels. Water is circulated through a dedicated 12v solar powered pump. Heat comes from a Jotul 602. The toilet is a Sunmar GTG waterless composting toilet and rounding out the off grid features are a propane powered cooktop and refrigerator. The cabin offers comfort year round and is situated on a 5 acre site that is nestled amongst 11,000 acres of state land known as the Connecticut Hill Wildlife Management Area. The location offers year round outdoor recreation and makes it a great spot for disconnecting from the day to day and immersing ones self in nature. Additionally, it is conveniently located to access the many wineries, breweries, cideries, and distilleries of the Finger Lakes region. If you prefer more of a nature based experience the cabin sits just a 25 minute drive from four NY State parks (Treman State Park, Buttermilk State Park, Taughannock State Park, and Watkins Glen State Park) where some of the states best waterfalls can be experienced along with exceptional hiking trails. We offer the cabin year round for rent.
