Casa de Campo | Ancram
Perched high on a hill along a quiet country road, with expansive views of the Taconic Mountain range in the distance and sheep meadows below, Casa de Campo | Ancram merges minimalist aesthetics with nature, blurring distinctions between inside and outside.
The home’s open floor plan and strategic placement of windows and glass doors opposite each other creates a sense of porosity and transparency from multiple perspectives.
The home’s clean lines, neutral color pallet, and polished concrete floors are complemented by carefully selected accents that express the Colombian owner’s heritage.
The home is built from concrete, steel, and glass.
The home’s 13-foot ceilings, 20-foot-wide, multi-slide glass doors, and skylight create a sense of volume in the main living space, while a strategically placed partition wall and other design gestures provide intimacy in the rest of the home.
The listening/reading room includes a custom-designed Murphy bed, while the guest bedroom includes a built-in, full-size double bunk bed. Both bedrooms include floor-to-ceiling custom closets in white oak. The bathroom incorporates Vola fixtures and Bianco Dolomiti marble. The rear terrace includes a custom-fabricated steel Argentine parrilla. Flos lighting fixtures can be found throughout the home.
