Gold Coast Designer Wins Prestigious Award
Gold Coast interior designer and renowned glass artist, Lisa de Boer, has won the prestigious title of Best Australian Bathroom Design in the 2023 (TIDA) Trends International Interior Design Award for her artistic ‘CORAL’ themed bathroom.
The charismatic designer is known for her bespoke, one-of-a-kind interiors featuring de Boer’s signature hand-painted glass art. The winning CORAL bathroom was inspired by her client’s passion for the underwater world. De Boer brought this theme to life through floor-to-ceiling matte glass panels featuring hand-painted Coral motifs in a soft, ethereal palette. “I wanted to create an immersive experience that transported my clients into an underwater wonderland” said de Boer. “The hand-painted glass panels allowed me to wrap the CORAL theme around the entire space, giving a sense of being enveloped by the ocean”.
Beyond the artistry, the bathroom was designed to meet the technical requirements of wheelchair accessibility while maintaining a stylish aesthetic. De Boer incorporated a range of thoughtfully curated bespoke bathroom fixtures and innovative lighting design to complement the CORAL theme. “Artistic design should be for everyone,” said de Boer. “I’m passionate about creating spaces that are beautiful, relaxing and highly functional”.
