Using the same material for the pool coping and the paths helps the garden feel more open and contemporary garden. The original wood deck was rotten and need replacing. Living in a subtropical area one must have a certain amount of airflow under wood decking and termites are also an issues. The paving was chosen for practical as well as aesthetic reasons.
