From MARTIN GOMEZ

This house was a very particular compound to design. From the very first moment that Geoffrey came up to me and told me "Martin you are going to be my architect", we started enjoying our chats together talking about the real use of space in summer homes.

Geoffrey bought this great piece of land next to a beautiful estate on the shores of Jose Ignacio's lagoon, which is a big sea inlet with gorgeous views, where open, wide and long golden fields melt with rolling hills that catch the last lights from the sunset’s most special moments. This campsite lets you enjoy the stunning views from every corner possible.

We thought it would be fun to design a camping area for Geoffrey and Sarah’s summer retreat, a very cos-mopolitan couple who like to receive lots of friends from all around the globe. The project consists of a main house surrounded by different kinds of satellites, which services as the guest area, including one and two bedroom cabins with all the comfort you can ask and two tents with double beds on top of large decks where you can enjoy the same 360 views of the main house. A gym, garage, tennis court, orchard, veggie garden, studio and atelier are some of the facilities we have at Geoff’s Campsite, a summerhouse designed with a lot of freedom for all guests, without losing the homey feeling.

We decided to paint everything black since we wanted the house to melt in the woods and let nature be the number one attraction. Floor to ceiling windows allow warm sunrays to come in the modern shacks, a lap pool, barbeque area, bonfire pits and large trees give the last touch to the campsite, a place to live and enjoy life.
