The Green Industrial Style Galley Kitchen project, designed by Bristol-based Sustainable Kitchens, a close-knit team of skilled creative professionals, operating with the environment at the heart of everything they do -- features a deep green palette and burnt orange metallics with teal accents. The rich color of the cabinetry coupled with the marble-inspired worktops creates the perfect contemporary flat panel kitchen.
“We look out for opportunities to inject continuity. It creates a subtle sense of balance and calm, tying the look of a room together,” said Sam Shaw, Founder of Sustainable Kitchens. In this case, they found that opportunity in the oak: primarily used as a worktop, leveraging the excess cuts to create bench seating and a desk. Echoing down the galley-shaped space, the oak helps the transition from kitchen-to-living space flow seamlessly.
“Lighting was important here. We chose the perfect sconces from British lighting manufacturer Original BTC and Jielde to give, not only proper lighting to the space, but also incorporate a fun, industrial vibe that the clients had been looking for," added Shaw. The Sustainable Kitchens team also selected open shelving, which is versatile enough for storage or display, so they didn’t interrupt the flow of light with heavy cabinetry.
