This project involved the renovation of an existing kitchen in a Toronto row house from the 1920's. With a restricted budget, new cabinetry, windows, a door, flooring, some drywall surfaces, insulation, and an extraction hood were built. Much of the existing ceiling and plaster walls were kept. The floor tile was selected for its variable pattern and ability to be assembled as a dramatic triangulated composition. On the wall above the computer station, a decorative pattern of gilded copper triangles echo the tiled floor.
