We bought beautiful, historically valuable wooden home last fall, built 1912. Our new home is located at Porvoo, Finland and after renovation, phase one is ready.

This big and fantastic house was built to Finnish painter Hanna Frosterus. Even Hanna was awarded at the Paris World's Fair 1900 she was not highly appreciated painter on that time because of her gender and the subjects of her paintings (home & family). Appreciation for her work has come in later decades.

Her oldest daughter Ellen was an architect for the house and it was, and still is, unique house. Genre is between Empire- and Jugend (art nouveau)-era´s and both styles can be found from our home. Rooms are high, big jugend-fireplaces, the windows get a lot of light. Hanna´s Atelje has a big roof window which was really rare on that time. Nowadays her Atelje is our bedroom.

After Hanna here has lived many cultural influencers, artists and writers, and now our family -all active musicians- including our children playing cello and violin. We´ve got 202cm long 1893 built C. Bechstein grand piano, lot of mirrors, huge glass doors (height 280cm) etc.

Hanna´s son Lennart Segerstråle was well-known fresco- and glass-painter and our home has a built-in glass paint from Lennart´s younger years. Hanna´s original easel has also been preserved and in good condition.
