Lakeview House
The kitchen features dark but vibrant, hand selected quartzite slabs and smoked oak on the wall cabinetry. The island was conceived to resemble a piece of furniture with curved gables and a raised/open metal leg detail with knurled metal cap and hand patinaed finish. The island is in a beautiful light oak in a rift cut pattern.
The office is dark, moody and masculine with the use of three different types of wood and an intricate velvet textured wallpaper.
The metal finish on the kitchen island is mirrored in both the hand rails and the door hardware throughout the home. The handrails have a leather detail that is married to the carpet runner on the stairs below the rail.
The master bedroom, ensuite, and master closet areas are light, airy and feminine, and the feature natural wood elements, earthy travertine, and a spa like feel that is cohesive and feels like one big space and a private sanctuary within the home.
The powder room features a marble pedestal basin from Agape and hand troweled clay walls.

Located in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies, the Lakeview House is an expression of natural materials, texture, warmth, and casual sophistication. The clients wished to create a home that was conducive to a family lifestyle with small children, but that also holds a high attention to the details and a feeling of tranquility throughout. While the palette is consistent in many ways, each area of the home has its own unique feel, and was designed with the intent to create a mood that was specific to each space.
