From DOLLER, JOHN

Designed and built by architect Lloyd Ruocco in 1956, in collaboration with his partner Ilsa, the historically designated Johann Residence is in vintage/original condition and offers an abundance of indoor and outdoor space with expansive mountain views to Tijuana. Walkable to the lovely village of La Mesa in San Diego and set amidst 0.6 acres of macadamia nut trees and other fantastic mature plantings, this the 6 bed/3 bath home still retains its original features including modular living room walls, abundant built-ins, cone fireplace, multiple work-from-home spaces, and natural light through walls of glass. Since purchasing from the original owners, the current sellers have added a significant solar array, heat pumps for central air and heat, electric car charger, water filtration system, cork and marmoleum flooring throughout, fresh kitchen appliances, and converted the basement to a separate garden apartment with its own entrance. Original blueprints and receipts for custom furnishings from the famous San Diego Design Center are retained. Original landscape design by Joseph Yamada. Listed by Keith York of Agents of Architecture. Photos by Collin Erie.
