Maravilla Residence is a contemporary mediteranean home in Aledo, Texas. As a permanent residence for a family of 4, the home has been built on a 2.38 acre lot in 2021 with a total square footage of 6166 sq ft. Aledo is a small town west of DFW area and has a beautiful landscape of hills and valleys where the wind blows magically through the flora and fauna. The owners being raised in the area wanted a contemporary and beautiful home where they could enjoy an upscale interior but feel connected to the land and raise chickens, goats, a garden and have a modern country life mixed with the conveniences of a city.

The interior was conceptualized based on a marriage of features like minimalism, neutral tones, natural materials and textures, and elegant forms. The purpose of the project was to create a home where the owners would be able to relax and enjoy an environment away from the daily hectic lifestyle of everyday life but also be a space where they could work from on days that they decide to work from home.

The interiors are bright and airy with contrast created by using deep earthy natural materials like steel, wood and stone. A sense of calm and tranquility was a primary goal of the owners, so in order to create that we used minimal and intentional decor, natural fibers in fabrics, we contrasted natural tones and textures and used greenery as a way to bring the outdoors in. Translucent stone, elegant light fixtures and curved forms in furniture pieces were used to give the space an elegant and sophisticated look and feel.
