The cantilevered cabana keeps the structure low and maintains views of the pool from the house deck. The protected outdoor kitchen is great for entertaining, and the flat roof will ultimately feature a higher elevation deck.

From Nate W.

This 300-SF cabana and lap pool comprised phase 2 of the original vacation home constructed in 2008 on a small inland lake in southwest Michigan. The two structures are wedded with the black, board and batten exteriors and utilize off-grid geothermal heating, well water, and evaporative septic. The cantilevered cabana keeps the structure low and maintains views of the pool from the house deck. The cantilever also positions the structure closer to the lake while avoiding more questionable soils immediately surrounding the lake. The protected outdoor kitchen is great for entertaining, and the flat roof will ultimately feature a higher elevation deck.
