Moto Shed on Ghost Lake

Our initial site visit revealed a previously installed shed that needed to be removed + allowed us to build the structure around the tree located in the mid right 3rd. The shed was to be designed around the tree by building the entry door off to the side of the tree while the motorcycles themselves would enter from the front.

In determining the approach, we were able to accommodate a level entry by designing this unit to be recessed in the ground 6-8" and providing a landscaped ramp on site.

During the construction phase, we brought in a few previous clients motorcycles to text the size + feel of the space once occupied.

By determining the slope pre-delivery we were able to source locally fallen 4x6 Douglas Fir timbers, which we used (along with 20mm washed gravel) as a naturally sloping ramp into the shed.

The final structure in place provides a warm atmosphere that is both Spartan and Elemental yet complimentary to the newly renovated lake house. By using 4000k LED pot-lights, we were able to provide the warmth requested by the client in the shadow boxed entry into the shed itself.
