After almost a decade in New York City working as a designer with Leroy Street Studio and LVMH, Eilla Pradier moved to Newport Beach four years ago. Eilla and her husband purchased their three-story Balboa Peninsula home located a block from the beach in 2020.

For the designs, Eilla skipped the expected nautical décor in favor of her version of coastal contemporary design, a more minimalist embrace of the beach, highlighted by organic elements and small-batch handmade furniture and decor. Sofa from Croft House, Los Angeles; barstools by Crump & Kwash.

Taking design palette cues from the integrated stone wall, the design aesthetic of the home channels a Zen modern feeling while infusing vibrant moments to bring in personal interests. " We wanted the home to have a sculptural modern presence while still being fun and playful."

With little backyard space, Eilla devoted most of their outdoor living to the home’s spacious front patio. Adding seating to compliment the interior and promote a seamless indoor-outdoor flow, allowing us to extend our living space and spend time outdoors. "Today we enjoy the utter walkability of our home’s location, and appreciate the effortless company of neighbors without making elaborate plans."
