Forest and bears beyond.

The innate desire to engage with the forest while cultivating an exterior family gathering place is what inspired the concept of this deck expansion. The intention was to leave the perimeter—as much as possible—uninhibited by a guardrail. The sweeping staircase achieves this by creating both a seating space, as well as an entry point to the forest beyond.
