The project has a lovely story as it was born on a social media platform and it quickly evolved into a beautiful collaboration, filled with great communication and splendid conversations along the way.
It had clear guidelines right from the beginning because the new tenants knew very well what they wanted for the space.
Located in Bucharest, Romania, the 2 bedroom flat hasn’t been lived in for quite a while, thus the original finishes, plumbing and electrical wiring were seriously deteriorated.
The brief was to have a simple and friendly home, as luminous as possible; to harmoniously blend some beautiful vintage furniture and lighting pieces which the owners already had with fresh, contemporary elements.
Staring with the old plumbing and electrical wiring, the whole flat was completely refurbished.
The original flooring, windows and doors, as well as all the tilling surfaces have been replaced with new finishes.
In order to have a unitary design, the whole floor has been covered with simple, light grey tiles. The same material has been used as a backsplash in the kitchen area in combination with the modern texture of the furniture.
In order to have a brighter and more practical bathroom, the old tub was removed, thus leaving plenty of space for a more generous shower.
White is predominant throughout the space. This became the neutral background for the furniture and lighting pieces.
