Nestled atop a serene hill, accessible via a winding gravel road, this enchanting home emerges as a testament to harmonious living with nature. Surrounded by lush trees and gently swaying grasses, the property exudes a tranquil country setting, yet remains remarkably close to the vibrant Indiana University campus. Having been cherished farmland within the family for generations, it now stands proudly as a cherished homestead for our clients.

In the early days of spring in 2020, we were privileged to explore this picturesque family land on the outskirts of Bloomington. The bond with both the land and the clients was immediate and heartfelt. Crafting a dwelling that thoughtfully maximized views of the distant campus while preserving the allure of rural living became an unforgettable experience.

A retired Biology Professor, one half of the visionary pair, held a specific dream for the home – an integrated greenhouse, captivating from both within and without. Drawing closer to the front entry, the eyes are drawn to a wall of windows, elegantly breaking the horizon with its prairie-style roofline. These windows bathe the two-story greenhouse in warm, nurturing natural light, where cherished plants and flowers collected and cultivated over the years will flourish for generations to come.

Beyond the greenhouse's allure, the home offers more captivating features. A screen porch, deck, and rooftop patio invite stargazing on clear nights and the awe-inspiring views of the IU campus library during the day.

Stepping inside, the interior of the home is a celebration of design and functionality. An exquisite open kitchen and living space create an inviting heart, seamlessly connecting to a primary bedroom on the main floor, all with access to the back deck and its breathtaking views. Prepared for any eventuality, we have roughed in an elevator shaft, ensuring comfort and accessibility. Additionally, the abundance of space includes an overflow area, a wood shop, and a spacious garage, thoughtfully provided for one of our clients, an avid woodworker and vehicle restorer.
