Interior designer Maria Ushakova created this apartment's design for a successful businesswoman in the film and television industry. "Since this is not our first collaboration, I have thoroughly studied the client's preferences, and she, in turn, fully trusted my vision. Notably, the apartment owner has excellent taste and a good understanding of modern art," notes the project's author.
This time, the client wanted a functional and comfortable interior with elegant details, where she could relax in a pleasant atmosphere after a long day of work and also entertain guests. "I must say that for me, the clients themselves are always a source of inspiration because their future home will look depending specifically on their lifestyle, sense of beauty, and interests," shares Maria.

The 120 m2 apartment features a combined living room and kitchen-dining area, a master bedroom, and a separate home office that can be used as a guest room if necessary. The space turned out to be practical, yet the project author managed to emphasize its original features, such as the ceiling height, while preserving the feeling of openness and airiness, which is enhanced by panoramic windows overlooking the golf course.

"I would define the style of this apartment as French casual chic, as both the client and I appreciate interiors of Parisian apartments with classic proportions, light walls with moldings, modern furniture, and art," explains the project author. Taking inspiration from Paris, parquet flooring with a "herringbone" pattern was chosen, moldings were added to the walls, as well as tall baseboards and crown moldings, visually enhancing the ceiling height. These classic techniques imbued the interior with lightness and elegance.

A palette of light shades serves as the foundation, setting off Maria's custom-designed furniture and brightly accented materials. They are complemented by expressive vintage and designer items. The majority of the lighting in the apartment consists of vintage fixtures acquired in Italy and France. For instance, Maria selected handmade ceramic fixtures by a French artisan, discovered in a quaint gallery during a Parisian vintage market trip.

"In this project, the client and I completely agreed on the understanding of harmony and balance in the interior, which is why the result turned out to be simple yet refined. I must admit that as a designer, I love absolutely every room in this apartment. And perhaps that's what gives me a special sense of satisfaction with the result because every corner of the apartment is aesthetically pleasing and pleases the eye," concludes the designer.
