The Mint House

Originally built in 1946 and located in Charlotte's (NC) Wilmore Historic district, The Mint House is a renovation and addition project completed in 2022.
Due to the specific requirements of the Historic District Commission (HDC) the exterior was left largely unchanged and the new addition had to follow criteria to match Historic Design Standards.
Inside of the historic Bungalow lies an unexpected modern interior, complete with vaulted ceiling, open floor plan, concrete tiling, wood paneling accents, LED accent lighting, stacked bond tile and flat front modern cabinetry and furnished with mid-century modern furniture. The contrast of the Interior and Exterior creates a unique playfulness of timeless Historic Bungalow and Modern design.
