This modern infill in the community of Mount Pleasant offers a clean and minimal palette
with subtle references to the 70’s. Completed in 2021, our client came to us with the goal of

a home designed around a central, sunken living room and an emphasis on casual,

intentional living. In the age of “busy” lives our client’s goal was to achieve a home in which

they could escape from the day-to-day bustle of everyday life. We utilized paneling details

throughout in warm walnut tones to counterbalance the cool, modern concrete. We selected

elongated brick, vintage inspired wools, and built-in furniture to modernize details of the

past while using natural tones to ensure the longevity of the home’s style and comfort. A

high contrast scheme emphasizes the architectural detailing of the space. Consideration

was given to all rooms to increase the usability and function of the home while creating a

unique layout. The addition of custom shelving allowed us to create intentional architectural

moments that both define the individual spaces while also maintaining an open layout.

Making this home both perfect for quiet evenings for two and entertaining friends. The

resultant design is laid-back yet refined, very much like its owners.
