The Weekender: A Nordic tiny home.

In a world of chaos and busyness, our minds and bodies desperately need a break. For me, it’s so easy to bring the busyness home, into the one place in the world that is supposed to be a sanctuary for resting and recovery. But because my mind is racing from the stressors and demands of modern living, it’s like I turn my home into a continuation of the cluttered, chaotic world outside. Out of this frustration was born the desire to design and build homes that offer a kind of detox for our consumeristic brains. A cold turkey approach to minimalism that just says, " enough is enough. I refuse to live out the expectations of other stressed out people. Ya'll can have this 2k mortgage. I want freedom, and rest."

My vision when I started building tiny homes was to design and build homes that are not only beautiful, but also super economical, built with locally-sourced, eco-friendly materials, that minimize environmental impact. Scandinavian design was perfect for me because of its clean lines, natural materials, and a simple and elegant color palette. That to me, felt relieving. Like it gave me permission to me myself and nothing more. The second thing that I believed when I started, and still do Is that minimalistic building should cost less than homes with shutters, gutters, extra trim and so on. We want people to be able to buy our home for the price of a car payment. And so far, they can.
