The "Quinta" Apartment

The 82 sm apartment is located in the hilltop district Arenella-Vomero, which offers a beautiful view towards the gulf of Naples. The layout shows the intent to achieve on one hand a generous living space and on the other a functional sleeping area together with the bathroom.

Located right in front of the entrance, a blue volume shows up, delivering a powerful visual impact. Like in a the-atre, the blue volume is conceived has a “quinta”, offering a filter between the living and the sleeping area.
The blue quinta performs as aesthetical solution as well as functional. If on one side it contains the furniture of the kitchen towards the living room, on the opposite it contains the laundry/storage room towards the bedrooms area. Laying gently on the bare concrete elements located in the middle of the apartment , it highlights both the column and the beam as aesthetic features of the living room.
The presence of the bare concrete elements within the main space helped the decisions of the materials. The floor tiles have a metallic finish which suites with the concrete elements within the space.
Behind the quinta it was important to create a minimalistic as well as functional space.
Between bedrooms and bathroom has been created a functional area in which a walk-in-closet and a laundry room located in front of each other provide generous storage space. Moreover the sliding doors system supplies great flexibility.
