We had a pleasure to work on the project of a private residence in a pristine birch forest in the south of Poland. Designed and executed with the utmost care, the residence became a private sanctuary, distant from the haste of the client’s everyday life. We took part in every stage of the project, touring the site before even the foundations were laid, advising the architect and the client from the conception, through the execution and until the final styling.

The client had trusted us fully, giving us almost unrestrained freedom to pursue our vision. A small number of very specific functional requirements, as well as a study of the client's other residences, served as a foundation of a truly bespoke design.

The client asked for the interior to be elegant - luxurious but restrained, kept in the cold tones of formal gray and dark wood. We conceived a modern and timeless design, avoiding vibrant colors and bold patterns. A softer, cozy atmosphere was reserved for the master bedroom.

We approached the design holistically, thinking both about the aesthetics of the formal spaces used by the client and their guests, but also about the practicality of the less visible parts of the building so that the staff would feel appreciated and comfortable too.

We had worked closely with the client, taking notes of their habits and tastes, gathering all the relevant information - from the number of shoe pairs to the brand of sound equipment the client - and audiophile preferred.

The scale of the residence was at once the greatest asset and the greatest challenge. The floor height of 6 meters (19.5 feet) of the ground floor meant we had to very carefully select the furniture and accessories as well as the lighting company - so that they would not look out of scale in such a spectacular context.

We are happy that our effort was acknowledged with the award "Best Interior Residence" in the European Property Awards competition.
