This new family home maximizes the use of the site. The house will have all the space needed for the large family to live, work and home-school. The yard will be fully developed, with an exercise studio, pool, outdoor kitchen and fireplace, play equipment and food garden. The clients are long-time residents of the neighborhood and active in their community, and so we are taking care to build a home that will serve all the long-term needs of their family. The clients love the Craftsman style and wanted a very functional and comfortable new house with a traditional character. We are designing to a high level of energy efficiency with careful use of resources. We were able to retain some of the existing structure of the old house to save cost and resources.
