From the Architect: "Through selective demolitions, the dining room and kitchen are strategically placed in the center of the house, with all pathways leading through this area, restoring the act of cooking and eating to a central role in social and family life, like an old rural kitchen. These new openings, arranged in a regular manner, enhance the flow of movement and visual connectivity across the spaces. The shape of these openings emphasizes and ritualizes the passage, like portals."
The dining table welcomes guests and also speaks to the central theme of, "cooking and eating as the center of social and family life," posed by the architects.
The pine dining table features a removable central limestone plate for food placement and sharing with ease.
The central corridor connects the dining area and living room. Herringbone wood flooring is present throughout the home.
The kitchen features a mix of limestone, marble, and synthetic materials.
Pairing detailed and complementary materials like bronze, wood, and marble add to the complexity of the home’s design.
The Lioz limestone bathroom complements white cabinetry, and pine wood handles allow for a clean and spacious feel in the bathroom.
A chain-link screen brings some privacy to the balcony without blocking out light or views.
