Snatch Up James Dean's Former Hollywood Home For $4M
Perched atop a promontory in the Hollywood Hills, this 1927 Spanish-style abode was once home to cultural icon, James Dean. In fact, the future star was living in this dwelling when he was first discovered.
Originally owned by Hal B. Wallis, who was the head of Warner Brothers at the time, Wallis had hired Dean to be his personal handyman, and the aspiring actor lived in the downstairs suite, fixing things around the house and taking care of the home when the Warner family traveled out of town. Naturally, Hollywood royalty frequented the residence, and as the story goes, a casting director saw Dean at a party, liked his look, and within a month he had been cast in Rebel Without a Cause.
Set on a double lot totaling more than 11,600 square feet, the three-bedroom, four-bath property boasts approximately 4,000 square feet of living space. Now, this Hollywood classic has been listed for $3,995,000. Scroll ahead for a peek inside Dean's former quarters.
