Snatch Up James Dean's Former Hollywood Home For $4M

James Dean slept here—need we say more?

Perched atop a promontory in the Hollywood Hills, this 1927 Spanish-style abode was once home to cultural icon, James Dean. In fact, the future star was living in this dwelling when he was first discovered.

Originally owned by Hal B. Wallis, who was the head of Warner Brothers at the time, Wallis had hired Dean to be his personal handyman, and the aspiring actor lived in the downstairs suite, fixing things around the house and taking care of the home when the Warner family traveled out of town. Naturally, Hollywood royalty frequented the residence, and as the story goes, a casting director saw Dean at a party, liked his look, and within a month he had been cast in Rebel Without a Cause
