A Multipurpose Bookcase

Kastella S304 Series - A multipurpose solid wood bookcase by the Montreal-based manufacturer and distributor of premium wood furniture. The S304 collection, designed by Kastella founder Jason Burhop, is a contemporary open storage solution available in solid walnut, cherry or white oak. Thin metal panels, 1/8" thick, are arranged vertically at increasing intervals, creating a visual crescendo and a rhythmic visual interplay between lines and perspectives. The piece’s volume takes on a different appearance from every angle by playing on the viewer’s perception of filled and empty spaces. The dividers for the three base models are white, but a full range of colours is available with custom units. The S304 owes its balance and refinement to the juxtaposition of the firmness and stability of solid wood with the delicate lightness of lacquered metal.
