Barenhaus

Blown glass orbs bring some glamour to the country side. The black background of the chimney allows these fixtures to twinkle.

Vertical slats that partially conceal the stair tower. Many ideas were discussed on how to enclose the tower and it was decided that we would fabricate oak slates with an unequal bevel. The cut alters the shape of the enclosure as you walk around the room which creates an incredible optical illusion.

Are the stairs structure or art? Maybe both...

Bold yet restrained. Barenhaus is more about mass than anything else. Black just looks superb against forest foliage and a blue sky.
