In a San Francisco neighborhood of Victorian and Edwardian homes, Blue Truck Studio rebuilt a worn bungalow into a modern tower that honors the diverse architectural styles of its surroundings. Square-grooved siding evokes the wood exterior of Victorians while venting panels disguised in the siding recreate the movement of traditional shutters. "Some of the proportions of the house are homage to traditional houses in neighborhood," says Peter Liang, Blue Truck Studio's principal.
