From Mina Teslaru

Designed and built by NYC transplant artists Mina Teslaru & Rich Tazzara, the Catskills Birdhouse is the newest addition to Bellfire Farm, a bucolic 10-acre property in the Catskills Mountains surrounded by maple forest, wild flower field and miles to roam. This artisan cabin features a 6 ft skylight above the bed nook, an ode to the awe-inspiring skies of the Meeker Hollow, one of the best spots for stargazing in NY state. An 11ft-tall reclaimed window wall in the living space frames the sprawling, lush landscape. Measuring no more than 150sq feet, this off grid dwelling is decorated with a maximalist eye - from eclectic artwork to the hand painted fern wallpaper and hanging indoor hammocks.
Outdoor siding features locally harvested live edge pine that was finished using the Sou Sugi Ban technique that preserves the wood and gives it a striking look. The lower chamber roof and back is finished in cedar shingles.
