This exquisite glass pavilion was designed as a multi-purpose building to integrate exercise, yoga and entertainment functions. The site is a beautiful pine forest and sculpture trail adjacent to a primary residence. The contemplative surroundings are enhanced by the austere minimalism of the building: large 10’ X 10’ glass panels set in elegant walnut frames comprise the building envelope.
The pavilion was designed to be converted into a future guest house. The Wenge veneer-clad core houses a full bath and kitchenette. Structurally, the core provides stiffness in concert with a post tensioned roof structure and four steel columns at the corners of the glass wall. An integrated curtain pocket at the perimeter is designed to accommodate floor to ceiling draperies for privacy.
