Hillside House

My wife and I have designed and are building a contemporary home in the hills of East Tennessee. We are not architects but appreciate modern design and wanted to build something very distinctive for this area. To help keep the project affordable, much of the home is typical construction (wood framing, etc) but with unique styles and finishes more akin to the pacific northwest. We have found that many conventional products can be tailored in such a way to achieve a modern look without having to be expensive. Some of our favorite installations so far (these are not sponsored, just our independent opinion) are Pella Impervia fiberglass windows, and Pella doors with built-in Insynctive smarts, an Astria see-through fireplace, and Fundermax Modulo rainscreen siding, with its hidden clip system for a straightforward installation and a clean look.
