When we set out to design the two adjacent homes in Little Forest Hills, our goal was clear: preserve the street's inviting, eclectic character, framed by its majestic, ageless trees. The presence of three such trees on our lots sparked an idea for a unique entrance that would transform this constraint as a beautiful opportunity.

We brought this vision to life with two curved driveways, both starting from the same spot and gracefully winding around the trees. These driveways led to the homes on adjacent lots, where two lifelong friends would soon reside. This unique entrance not only boosted the street's visual appeal but also symbolized the essence of friendship, reflecting the intertwined journeys of these future homeowners. It highlights the incredible impact of thoughtful design on our lives and relationships.

From this winding path, two distinct homes emerge. The corner house transforms into a lush coastal retreat, bathed in sunlight streaming through glass walls, effortlessly blending the indoors and outdoors. Nestled between two homes, the interior house embraces a mid-century modern aesthetic, featuring a cleverly designed roof that invites daylight to dance through its expansive spaces throughout the day. These homes are united by a common thread—the transformative power of design to elevate living spaces and strengthen the bonds of human connection.

But this design isn't just about the creation of homes; it's about preserving the very essence of the boulevard itself. It's about a place where history and community exist in harmony, where design nurtures friendships and fosters a sense of belonging.

In the end, our mission to honor Forest Hills Boulevard's character transformed into a heartfelt testament to architectural design's ability to shape not only the physical landscape but also the connections and memories it fosters.
