The Modern Solar Farmhouse is designed to be a Zero Energy Home and was built and verified with a HERS Score of 10. With an additional row of solar panels, this home will achieve positive energy production and is wired for a future electric car. The Modern Solar Farmhouse is a prototype home built with Live Solar Maine. It recognizes the traditions of Maine, while implementing contemporary design elements. Our homes are thoughtfully designed to meet the comforting needs of today while conserving for future generations to follow. We believe the space we live in can transform our moods, enhance our comfort and improve our productivity. The Modern Solar Farmhouse is carefully crafted to model our values, it is engineered for earth’s preservation and meticulously designed for the physical, social and emotional well-being of our dwellers. Carefully considered layouts maximize usability and minimize size while optimizing sun-light, energy, and air quality and overall efficiency. It is a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath home just under 1800 SF. Vaulted ceilings and windows placed low to the ground maximize the volume of the home making it feel larger than it really is.
