We designed our home during Covid, which shifted our focus on making it feel like all the wonderful places we love travelling to.
Since travelling was impossible, we brought the travels to us.
City living means minimal side windows, so we designed this home to take in as much light from the front and back as possible and placed our focal daytime living spaces in these sun-lit areas.
Both offices are situated at the front of the home, which are filled with natural light all day.
The main level is where the action is.
We designed it to feel warm, and welcoming as we love to host. We put a wood burning fireplace in the living room, so that we could feel like we were at the cottage during cold winter nights.
We chose to go with beautifully handmade plumbing fixtures that will patina over time, to remind us of Italy.
We used a lot of natural textures throughout the house to make us feel enveloped by a cocoon of comfort. We were mindful of using high quality products like Flos, Bocci, Luceplan and Lamber & Fils light fixtures. most of the plumbing fixtures are from Watermark.
On the second floor, you will find 14ft cathedral ceilings, giving the space a truly expansive feel.
There are 4 bedrooms and a cozy open reading nook at the centre of it all. This nook is fantastic as it gives another comfortable area to relax when someone else is enjoying the living room.
The master bedroom has a “his and hers” closet; one nestled behind the bed and one in the hallway going to the bathroom, from the bedroom, tucked away in custom millwork, following the peak of the ceiling.
The master bathroom is a haven of calm and serenity. The wall tiles remind us of rain and the pendant lights, when dimmed, make you feel like you are under the moon, showering.
Home is where the heart is!
