Built around a Heritage Pecan Tree on the East side of Austin, this "Tree house" was designed by Davey McEathron Architecture to provide a special place for the owner's family to use as a staycation when they are missing a piece of their old NYC lifestyle. The home features large windows and skylights that allow natural lighting to flood every room. The tree can be seen in every corner of the home providing a "silence" you feel when you're standing in a forest. The master's suite has a hybrid Japanese Onsen tub + shower specially designed to mimic the Japanese hot spring culture you would experience in the mountains and forests of Japan. Materials were chosen carefully to always allude to nature but modernizing it with industrial black metal throughout.
