From Shawn Hendrix

This historical building constructed in 1926 was originally a Bank & Trust. After the stock market crash of 1929, the building opened and closed several times being used as the home for the local Boys and Girls Club, Santa’s North Pole, and other temporary local needs. The site had been vacant for several years before VBC | Construction in partnership with VBC | Studio, rescued the underutilized building with dreams of converting it into an upscale corporate office and community workspace for professionals.

The transformation of the large scale banking hall into a central atrium and lounge was bolstered by building out the second and third floors into a catwalk flanked by private office. The international design team was drawn into taking a building that was underutilized and filling it to the brim with multi-functional space. The main hall maintains its former grandeur but allows for smaller more tranquil vignettes as one moves through the space. The interiors and selections are a modern riff on traditional art deco styling that are perfectly at home in the birthplace of the nation.
