Perched on a ridge above historic downtown Basalt, Colorado, this luxury community of multi-family residences was partially constructed in 1990 and then later brought to KA DesignWorks to finish an undeveloped phase of the project. The original design intent was reminiscent of a traditional Italian hillside community with easy access to town yet surrounded by wilderness. The design is also reminiscent of an Italian village in the way that each space stacked into the hillside strategically so in order to take advantage of every opportunity to frame a spectacular mountain view.

Each of the three separate 3,100 square foot residences have three levels. A reverse floor plan, the bedrooms and more private areas on the first and second floors and the open concept kitchen, living, and dining areas are perched on the third level in order to maximize the dramatic views of the Elk Mountain Range and Mt. Sopris just outside. The contemporary design of the interiors and use of light wood, glass, and sleek modern fixtures creates a light and airy environment that is a welcome contrast to the rugged surrounding mountain landscape. The local real estate professionals have referred to these units as the crowning phase of luxury townhome living in the Mid-valley.
