It took 3 people over 6 months to restore this vintage 1960 Schult Mobile Home located just outside Canon City, Colorado. The small mobile home park with 5 units was in a sorry state of disrepair when the current owner purchased the property and decided to restore each vintage mobile home to its former glory. With a love for mid century modern, an existing architectural salvage business and a local vintage camper restoration specialist just down the street the project was off to a good start.

All the mismatched interior panels were removed, sagging roof was reinforced before new insulation was placed in the walls and new shellacked paneling was put back. This tiny 2 bedroom was converted into a one bedroom with larger bath and laundry. All the original built-in cabinets were restored and blended into the new materials. New drawers and cabinet doors had to be make to update the look of the kitchen while maintaining the vintage look. New vinyl flooring, modern commercial carpeting and ceiling tiles were added to make sure this property would be low maintenance for years to come. The knobs on every cabinet were salvaged from the same period houses and collected for over a year to have enough to match throughout.

The exterior metal siding had to be repaired several places where holes had been cut for wires and pipes before it was painted with the original paint scheme using a modern coral color. All the chain link fence was removed surrounding the property and a reclaimed wood fence was added.

This property is currently available through major vacation rental platforms along with other restored units in The Rosedale Vintage Mobile Home Park.
