From soft loud house architects

Soft loud house architects have designed an organic straw bale family home for this hilltop site in Yackandandah in Victoria's high country. The home is designed for ultra-low environmental impact and longevity, using recycled and salvaged materials such as radial sawn timber and recycled brick. Walls are lime rendered strawbale and recycled brick, and the floors are oxide stained and waxed concrete for thermal mass. Ventilation and pre-heating / cooling is through underground earth linked pipes which supply fresh air throughout the home.
