Sunday Market by Hallie Brewer Print

Paper collage. I traveled Oaxaca City, Mexico to study the rich culture and craft traditions of the region. As a way of documenting this experience I collected materials that I came across to then be incorporated into a new body of work. This is one of the works from this collection. A collage made of handmade paper from a Oaxaca art community, along with various papers salvaged from my stay.

About the Artist

Hallie Brewer is a multi-disciplinary artist. She studied graphic design before receiving her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. At SAIC she oscillated between printmaking and fiber & material studies. It was during this time that she was able to merge her love of design with her interest in craft and technique. She works out of her studio in Austin, Texas.
