The second floor is the home to the primary suite, which is a space created to form a cozy and peaceful cocoon away from the world.

Zachary’s father—a fine woodworker and production designer for television—built the walnut unit. The beadboard backing brings texture to the display and syncs with other applications in the house.

In order to minimize the impact of the pony wall, Zachary had a built-in bench with storage installed. The seat cushion is fashioned from vintage fabric.

Zachary designed a new cabinet in walnut to anchor the room. The wood tones are a warm counterpoint to the butter-yellow sofa. The coffee table belonged to the owners.

Steel & Glass Retractable Wall Panel in the Office: Robert wanted a space that could function as an office but still open up to the rest of the unit. We designed these custom glass and steel doors on a retractable sliding track, allowing the space to function as either a private or public space.

A study boasts built-in shelves for books or decorative vignettes.

The apartment underwent a renovation by architect Andrew Berman before interior designer Justin Charette outfitted the interiors. The renovation restored the existing tin ceiling and wood beams.
