Beditorial’s Holly Falcone Shares Her Favorite Conversation-Starter Home Products

Including a tiny apron for dressing up a bottle of wine!

When professional nail artist Holly Falcone launched her bedding line Beditorial a year ago, her design approach was a natural offshoot of her own personal style: nostalgic with a dash of vintage and a hint of kitsch. (One could say her dazzling and wacky nail designs—which she primarily gets hired for ads, editorials, and fashion shows—similarly make quite a statement.) "As far as having a product goes," Falcone says, "I'm basically applying the same thing I do with nails, like in advertising or fashion, where I'm like, ‘Okay, how do I make something that's unique and tells a story but is universal enough to be sheets that I can sell to people?’"

The results are prints like swirly, hand-drawn spaghetti noodles (Falcone learned to cook pasta from her Italian grandfather), playful black splotches reminiscent of a cow print (a nod to the underbelly spots of Falcone’s poodle), and a classic leopard print inspired by "a certain Lower East Side bar pool table" that Falcone used to frequent before she moved from New York to Los Angeles in 2018. "I'm trying to make all of these little things that are special to me," says Falcone. "It's basically the idea of dressing up and having your favorite thing that makes you feel good, but for your bed."

When it comes to the interior of her Hollywood Dell home that she shares with her partner, two dogs, and a soon-to-arrive baby, Falcone is all about filling it with "special trinkets or keepsakes" that have a personal history or tie back to certain memories. "It's about being thoughtful; I have a bookshelf that has all these tchotchkes and everything has a story and everything has a place and everything can be appreciated," Falcone says.

The way she navigates her home—and, especially as she prepares for her little one’s arrival—is to have the funky nostalgic decor blend in seamlessly with foolproof investment pieces. "I'd like to be more traditional and I consider myself one in my heart," she says. "For instance, I wanna have the same cookware for 50 years; again, I think those are really special and thoughtful. As such, Falcone’s picks run the gamut. In addition to her favorite bedding pieces, there’s an otherworldly lamp, a tiny apron for dressing up a bottle of wine, and a Le Creuset pot. "I like things that when you have people over, they're like, ‘What the hell is this?’ I especially appreciate things if they come in an unusual color or have some humor to it. Conversation pieces—that’s what I’m trying to give you with Beditorial."

"I started Beditorial as an ode to celebrating the little things that bring us the most joy. The Al Dente print is, you guessed it, hand-drawn spaghetti! I love that it is thoughtful and silly while still serving as a neutral."
