Best known for his roles in the Transformers films and the NBC television series Good Girls, actor Reno Wilson has just put his family home on the market. Set in L.A.’s Mount Washington neighborhood, the cozy compound has much to offer. Not only is there a two-bedroom, two-bathroom, 1,704-square-foot main house, but there is also a detached studio in the backyard—outdoor space that unfolds into multiple options for enjoying a full-on outdoor Southern California lifestyle.

Coco Wilson, Reno's wife and owner-operator of the boutique fitness studio The Cycling Pigeon, did all the interior design herself. She coated the open-plan living area in a bright white paint, creating a sense of airiness and space. For the kitchen, Coco added a marble countertop and backsplash, Malibu French Oak floors, and premium appliances from Viking and SubZero fridge. Perhaps her standout find, though, would be the freestanding, vintage fire drum fireplace that she found in Pasadena. The piece anchors the living space and adds a visual counterpoint to the transparent bi-fold doors that open to the private backyard.

In typical luxe L.A. living style, the outdoor space features a pool and spa. There is also a detached structure that Reno used as a recording studio, but which also has a bedroom and bathroom and can serve as additional living space. “Our family used the recording studio for many a birthday party, where kids would record songs and stories. I did most of my voiceover auditions in the studio. We also would have our musician friends come over for massive freestyle sessions,” he shares.

Behind the studio, Wilson inserted a half-size custom basketball court. There are also stairs that lead to a rooftop deck above the studio. There, Wilson created a special spot to enjoy sweeping city views. He designed the space with a built-in projector and a screen, plus a fire pit, for alfresco theater experiences. The spot has been the site of many happy family memories for the actor, “We would watch all major sporting events [up there] as well as movies—and yes, we watched all five of the Transformers movies that I was in on that deck.”
