How Neutra’s Kaufmann House Got Its Groove Back

Neutra’s Kaufmann House was initially designed for living in roughly two months out of the year, but after the original owner passed, later ones attempted to retrofit the space for year-long use, installing air-conditioning, adding square footage, and enclosing the courtyard. As part of the extensive Marmol Radziner restoration, the courtyard was reopened to honor the original design.
