The family-owned resort used to film an iconic episode of Amazon's award-winning show The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is now for sale in upstate New York. Set in the late '50s and early '60s, the comedy series stars Rachel Brosnahan as Miriam "Midge" Maisel, a New York City housewife-turned-comedian who performs at comedy clubs under the name "Mrs. Maisel." In season two, Midge joins her parents on their annual vacation to Steiner's Mountain Resort in the Catskills, and while the fictional plot is wildly entertaining, the real-life resort is just as much fun.

Officially known as the Scott's Family Resort at Oquaga Lake, the historic waterfront retreat has been in operation since 1869—with six generations of the Scott family working to expand the nearly 1,000-acre property to include a main lodge complete with a bowling alley and ice cream parlor, along with several detached cottages and no shortage of on-site activities.

In total, the resort currently accommodates up to 250 guests and the large acreage includes a pair of 9-hole golf courses, as well as 2,000 feet of lake frontage. There's also even a 35-seat showboat that was formerly used as a sing-along cruise. However, the current owners recognize that some aspects of the resort will require modernizing.

After decades of ups and downs, the show's success only briefly turned things around at the resort, then lockdowns and travel restrictions associated with the COVID-19 pandemic forced the resort to close down earlier this year. With an auction ending unsuccessfully in September, the family is still searching for a buyer and are asking $6,000,000 for the business.
