378 West End Avenue is a new condominium located on Manhattan’s Upper West Side at the corner of West 78th Street and West End Avenue. COOKFOX Architects was commissioned to design the intricate development, which includes the combination of an existing, original 1915 Palazzo-style building overlooking the historic Collegiate Church with a newly constructed 18-story tower. Throughout the design process, Alchemy Properties and COOKFOX Architects took residents’ health and safety into careful consideration, incorporating state-of-the-art technologies and amenities, and biophilic design elements to promote residents’ wellbeing. One of the most unique aspects of this building is the blend of three distinct facades.
The 58 residences balance contemporary and classic design with an incorporation of natural materials throughout to create visual and tactile connections to nature, like white oak flooring in herringbone patterns. Interiors also feature gracious layout with pre-war proportions, high ceilings that extend up to 11 feet, and oversized windows that help fill each space with natural light while providing stunning views of the city, river, Central Park, and Riverside Park.
Residence 15A is a spacious, 7,500 square foot 6 bedroom, 7.5 bath duplex residence with ample space for entertaining and a 995 square foot wraparound terrace on the upper level that offers sprawling views of New York City in all directions. The custom Christopher Peacock chef’s kitchen is outfitted with hand-painted white oak cabinetry, Statuarietto marble slab countertops and backsplashes, polished nickel hardware, and an integrated Wolf and Subzero appliance package.
The primary suite opens to the terrace and includes a master bath with radiant heated marble floors, a freestanding soaking tub, and custom white oak vanity with marble countertops, all fixtures are appointed with sleek polished nickel and stonework fittings by Waterworks.
All secondary bedrooms feature en-suite bathrooms with beige porcelain tile floors, a Bianco Dolomiti marble clad shower or soaking tub, and custom gray lacquer vanity with marble top and backsplash, with Waterworks polished nickel fixtures throughout.
