In the heart of Moscow, interior designer Yulia Kishkovich has masterfully crafted a 100 square meter apartment, blending strict geometric lines with textured finishes to mirror the vibrant lifestyles of its owners. "This design tells the story of the owners' dynamic way of life, aiming to encapsulate a full spectrum of emotions within the space," says the author of the project.
The owners, seeking a comfortable home base during their frequent Moscow visits, were drawn to the apartment primarily for its panoramic views of a nearby park and the cityscape. They requested a minimalist design with a focus on comfort. "As an architect, I typically work from the general to the specific," notes Yulia. "I start with a main concept and gradually add various elements and details to enrich the design".

The existing layout was only slightly modified, with the apartment divided into public and private zones. The public area comprises a spacious and functional living and dining area, complete with a wine refrigerator for the owners. This section also includes a small walk-in closet, a bathroom, a utility room, and a home office. Major alterations were made to the private section, which Kishkovich delineated by relocating a door and designing a master bedroom complete with a walk-in closet and a full bathroom.

Yulia Kishkovich aimed for an interior that was both neutral and contrasting, warm-toned with vibrant accents. "I enjoy and excel at working with color, making it exciting to focus on not just shades and nuances but also on bold color statements," she explains.

Designed predominantly as a retreat, the apartment features aesthetically pleasing and tactile materials, with subdued lighting to enhance relaxation. The architectural space thrives on a contrasting combination of textures, utilizing steel, chrome, and black stone as accents. Honey-colored oak flooring, along with calm wall shades and furniture tones, adds a cozy feel to the space. Doors are designed to be invisible, with no frames and painted to match the walls, visually expanding the interior boundaries.

The interior designer incorporated ceiling-recessed spotlights throughout most rooms, as localized lighting allows for varied lighting scenarios. Ceiling fixtures serve more as decorative elements, while an eye-catching chandelier above the dining table stands out as a full-fledged art piece. The interior is also adorned with unique and vibrant objects, such as a mirror by Fiam, lounge chairs by Magis, lighting by Luceplan, and a table by Kristalia.

Ultimately, Yulia Kishkovich succeeded in creating a harmonious monochromatic interior enriched with a variety of contrasting textures and intriguing designer items, crafting an elegantly modern living space that reflects the owners' lively personalities and refined tastes.
