From an abandoned basement, the architect was able to recapture a third of a house in the Mt Pleasant neighborhood of Washington DC.
Created for a family of 5, the project consisted of the excavation of a basement to reach a comfortable ceiling clearance. The basement now holds a new bedroom, full bathroom, family room and wet bar with laundry. The exterior access allows for a semi independent access of the space.
