Before & After: Castro Valley Eichler

This mid century modern Bay Area residence by the architecture firm Emmons and Jones by Joseph Eichler is located in Castro Valley, California. The 1953 sq.Ft house was built in 1964. In 2019, the real estate firm of Rohit Pathak acquired the property, and after 1 year of extensive repairs, sold it to the current owners, psychiatrist John Fenton and his partner David Friedman, a retail real estate consultant. In addition to electrical, plumbing, and other necessary updates, the kitchen was opened up by removing a wall which separated it from the living room. Renovations continued throughout 2020 - 2022, during the height of the pandemic, and included changing the original 4th bedroom into a spacious bathroom and separate functional office space. Eco-conscious updates included installation of solar panels . Before and after photos are attached.
